Department of Social Sciences and Humanities

1. History, purpose and functions

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities was established on October 1, 2009 by order №12 / 1 §6, section “Professional disciplines”. The head of the section was Ch.A. Madiyarova, then from September 1, 2012 B. Ismanalieva. On September 1, 2017, the section was renamed the Department of “Humanities” and HR Tairov was appointed head of the department. According to the order of the rector of Batken State University, Doctor of Economics, Professor AT Giyazov dated September 15, 2021, due to the long hours of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, the specialty “Social Pedagogy” was transferred to the Department of Humanities and the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities was established.  Currently, the department is headed by Zhunusova Gulnaza Absatarovna. 550711 – Serves social pedagogy and prepares students as specialists. 550711 – The purpose of higher education in the basic educational program in the field of education and training of specialists in the field of social pedagogy is to train teachers capable of solving the professional tasks of continuing education focused on competence in the context of globalization. Students of this specialty are educated in the disciplines specified in the curriculum, and educational, pedagogical and state internships are organized. In addition, the department of “Social Sciences and Humanities” offers other specialties: Kyrgyz language and literature, Russian language and literature, native language, theory and methods of teaching the native language, foreign language, Manas studies, philosophy, jurisprudence, world and domestic culture, Art education of children’s literature, education in the development of children’s speech. Currently, the department has 14 teaching staff. Detailed information about them is given in the staff form of the department:

According to the curriculum, students majoring in “Social Pedagogy” of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities after full-time education with 9 bases for 2 years and 10 months, 11 bases with 1 year and 10 months, and part-time education with 11 bases for 2 years and 6 months. The graduation organizes the passing of state attestation exams. Also, after receiving a diploma of special secondary education, our students have the opportunity to obtain a bachelor’s degree in social pedagogy and pedagogy and methodology of primary education within the same institute.
