On November 5, 2024, a presentation seminar was held at Batken State University by lecturers from South Korea — Mr. Hong Hyun San and Mrs. Lee Hyun Sook. The event gathered a wide audience with the aim of introducing BatSU students to the culture, language, and traditions of South Korea.

During the seminar, the lecturers presented several key aspects of Korean culture. They talked about the features and grammar of the Korean language, suggested students learn basic phrases, and started with a beginner’s lesson in Korean. The lecturers explained the structure of the Korean language, its origins, as well as the significance and features of the Korean script — Hangul. For many participants, it was their first encounter with the unique characteristics of this alphabet, which sparked great interest among the students.

Additionally, the seminar focused on traditional games, an inseparable part of Korean culture. The lecturers spoke about games such as Yutnori and Tuho and gave students the opportunity to participate in them. These games were engaging for the participants, allowing them to experience the spirit of Korean traditions through active participation and communication.

Furthermore, Mr. Hong Hyun San and Mrs. Lee Hyun Sook shared fascinating facts about Korean culture, covering topics such as national holidays, cuisine, family traditions, and religious customs. They discussed popular dishes such as kimchi and bibimbap and explained their cultural significance. The lecturers also emphasized the importance of preserving traditions in the context of rapidly developing technologies in the country.

At the end of the seminar, students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the prospects of learning the Korean language, as well as the future cooperation between Batken State University and educational institutions in South Korea.
