Today, December 19, 2024, a round table titled “Transformation of School Education and Reform of Higher Pedagogical Education in the Context of Transition to a 12-Year General Secondary Education System in the Kyrgyz Republic” was held at the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University.
The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dodyurkul Kendirbaeva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rasul Abazbek uulu, the President of the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, Nazira Duyshieva, as well as representatives of higher educational institutions and education sector experts.
Batken State University was represented by its rector, Aidar Gyzayov Toktorovich, the vice-rector for international relations and innovations, directors from the M. Tairov Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute, A. Mashrabov SGEI, and BatSU’s “Iyma” educational and training complexes.
The main goal of the round table was to develop a roadmap for improving the quality of teacher preparation in the context of the transition to the 12-year education system and to exchange views on the reform of state educational standards.
During the event, the President of the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, Nazira Duyshieva, delivered a report on “Reforming the State General Education Standard”, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nadira Jusupebkova, presented on “The Concept of Transition to a 12-Year Education System in Kyrgyzstan. The Future of the Reform. Transformation of School Education”, and the Director of the Institute for the Improvement of Qualifications and Retraining of Pedagogical Staff of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Toktomametov, discussed “The Model of a Modern Teacher”.
The event discussed changes in the education system, the role of pedagogical universities, and new professional standards for teachers. Various working groups’ proposals were heard. At the end of the round table, a draft roadmap was prepared based on the proposals.
It is important to note that this reform aims to bring the Kyrgyzstan education system to a level that meets modern requirements.
