According to the work plan of the Department of State Language of Batken State University for the 2024-2025 academic year, senior lecturer of the Department of Philological Education at the Faculty of Natural, Humanitarian, and Pedagogical Sciences, Gulsun Mamatovna Abdyrakhmanova, held an advisory session with the English Language specialty group A-1-23 on the topic “Linguistic Diversity and Its Importance” dedicated to “February 21 – International Mother Language Day.”

Students gave presentations explaining that “February 21 – International Mother Language Day” was established by UNESCO in 1999 and has been celebrated since 2000. They also shared information about the most widely spoken languages in the world.

Additionally, students were asked to find Kyrgyz translations of commonly used Russian words among young people, recited poems highlighting the value of their native language, delivered reports, and shared their thoughts on the idea that preserving and developing their language is their responsibility.
