On April 14, 2022, a dialogue meeting was held at the American Corner with students from Batken State University and UN Women staff about opportunities and potential solutions for cooperation and peacebuilding in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The purpose of this meeting is to exchange views with the youth of Batken region, which will be aimed at strengthening social cohesion, strengthening good neighborly and peace. This meeting was organized using elements of the innovative methodology of design thinking. During the discussion, the youth participated in a process of collaborative identification of key issues and solutions, mostly drawing on their own experience and creative ideas, including locally verified details that would increase the likelihood of achieving the expected goals. The youth discussed ways to build friendly and peaceful relations between communities based on common cultural values, taking into account economic opportunities, with an emphasis on promoting/using/preserving local heritage in border areas, enhancing peacebuilding skills.
