History of the Humanitarian Faculty of BatSU KPHI

          Humanitarian  Faculty is one of the leading structures of KPHI BATSU. It was formed as Kyzyl-Kya branch of Osh State University as a philological faculty. At the beginning of the activity, 32 teachers worked at the faculty. The number of students were 706 people. Of these, 166 students are full-time, 540 are part-time students.

Over the whole  period, Associate professor in Philology  Zhalilov A.Zh., Associate Professor Abdiev K.R.,, Associate Professor Teshebaev M., Ph.D.  Associate Professor  in Philology Zhoroev I.M., Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Berdyev A.T., who made a great contribution to the education and development of the faculty, university. At the present time, the head of the faculty is Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences  Professor Karanova T.N.

The academic  staff of the faculty consists of 30 people. There are  2 – acting professors, 7 associate professors, 7 senior lecturers, 11 teachers.

At the present time, 569 students study at the faculty.  

312 students get full-time education, 257 students get  part-time education.

There are two departments at the Humanitarian Faculty:  the Department of World Languages ​​and Department of  Kyrgyz Language and Literature and History.

 The Humanitarian  Faculty trains specialists in two directions:

 550300 “Philological education”, which includes the profiles Kyrgyz language and literature”, “Russian language and literature”, “English language” and 550400 “Social and economic education” on the profile “History”.

Mission of the Humanitarian  Faculty

     The mission of Humanitarian  Faculty  is to ensure the social development of society through the training of competitive specialists with high scientific and creative potential in accordance with the labor market.

              AIMS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE HUMANITARIAN FACULTY

        To train bachelor specialists in the direction of “Philological education” on the profiles “Kyrgyz language and literature”, “Russian language and literature”, “English language”and  “Socio-economic education” on the profile  “History”, the following clearly defined aims and objectives have been set:

1. Analysis of the linguistic features of the philological direction, the formation of respect for the native language, for its literary heritage and cultural traditions.

2. Training of specialists who are able to conduct trilingual education in the schools of the republic, who are able to compete in the labor market and effectively participate in the activities of state bodies and public organizations.

3. Formation of a worldview and systemic knowledge of the main regularities of the features of historical processes; possessing the competence to obtain and analyze information about the historical heritage, understanding the patterns of historical processes and their driving forces, understanding the direction of an active citizenship.

Functions are :

1. Formation of personal qualities in the intellectual, cultural and spiritual development of students in the learning process along with higher education in the specialty. Meeting the needs of society in highly educated, highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel.

2. Improving the forms and methods of teaching, integrating into the global education system through the introduction of innovative technologies, bringing curricula and educational programs in line with world standards

3. Organization of scientific (archaeological, ethnographic, archival, museum) research, scientific and methodological and educational and pedagogical practices aimed at solving issues of education, production, socio-political relations, culture and upbringing.

4. Development, improvement and modernization of the material and technical base of the faculty.

5. Training of specialists on a budgetary and contractual basis in the directions 550300 – “Philological education” and 550400 – “Social and economic education” in the profiles “Kyrgyz language and literature”, “Russian language and literature”, “English language” and “History” necessary for our region, taking into account the possibilities of the university.

Faculty profiles

The faculty trains specialists with higher education in three profiles in the direction 550300 – “Philological education”:

The profile “Kyrgyz language and literature” aim is teaching Kyrgyz language in depth as the national language of the Kyrgyz people, the state language of the Kyrgyz Republic, the formation of knowledge about its phonetic features, lexical composition, grammatical structure, graphics, spelling, orthoepical norms and other features in the study of literary heritage and history of oral folk art of the Kyrgyz people.

The profile “Russian Language and Literature” sets a goal: teaching the phonetic structure of the Russian language, lexical composition, grammatical structure, graphics, spelling, orthoepy. It trains specialists in Russian studies who have a deep knowledge of the language and culture of the Russian people.

English Language” the aim of the profile is to train teachers of a foreign language with deep knowledge of the features of the phonetic structure of the language being studied, its vocabulary, graphics, grammatical features, theory and practice of translation.

Direction 550400 – “Socio-economic education” trains history teachers who deeply study the general history, the history of Kyrgyzstan and the methodology of teaching history.

Research work of the faculty

Deputy dean for scientific work Sarybekova G. is engaged in research work of the faculty.

At the present, the faculty has 5 candidates of sciences, 4 masters, 7 associate professors and teachers. Research work of teachers is carried out in accordance with the requirements. Teachers and students actively participate in scientific and practical conferences held in international and regional public organizations or universities. As proof, Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Languages ​​Mamatova Altynai Malikovna and Lecturer Sarybekova Gulkhumar Ziyavdunovna took part in the conference “The Best Teacher of the CIS” in Kazakhstan with their scientific articles and were awarded diplomas and badges.

Davranova Gulchehra and Murzakhmedova Nargiza actively participated in scientific conferences in Turkey and received certificates.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Kyrgyz Language and History F.M. Kayimova defends her dissertation on the topic “Comparison as a functional-semantic basis”. And docent, Professor T.N. Karanova, Professor. K. Pakhirov, Associate Professor A. Abdikerimov, Sh.K. Zikirova, Senior Lecturer A. Kochkonov, Associate Professor. A.Teshebaev, Sh.Uraimov actively participates in scientific conferences that are held in the universities of Kyrgyzstan and received honorary diplomas and diplomas, publish their scientific articles in the journal of Osh State University and in the journal “News of the universities of Kyrgyzstan”. The faculty also works to guide students in a scientific direction. Abdikerimov A., Kochkonov A., Kaimova F., Mamatova A., Sultanova S., Orokbaeva Z., Davranova G., Murzakhmedova N. and other teachers supervise the research work of students, prepare for the Olympiad, etc.

In particular, scientific articles by Ar-18 students Elizaveta Topchubayeva and Aiperi Mamasaidova were published in the journal Izvestia Vuzov Kyrgyzstan. In April, the institute holds a scientific week annually. Students take part with their scientific work and receive diplomas of I, II, III degrees.

                   Organization and practice of the Faculty of Humanities

To carry out the practical work of the faculty for the academic year on the basis of the

curriculum and in accordance with the academic schedule, the annual plan is drawn up by

the head of the practice and approved by the dean of the faculty.To carry out the practical

Organization and final work of the practice

For practical training, trainees are assigned to secondary schools in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya,

nearby Nookat, Aravan and Kadamzhai districts, taking into account their material and

technical base, textbooks and experienced teachers.

Methodologists have created a working program based on the state standard of education on

practices. They give individual tasks based on the program.

Trainee students submit the following documentation:

1. Fill in the “future teacher’s folder” ;

2. Filling out the diary;

3.Information about the school;

4. Analysis of teaching, education of students in general;

5. Psychological characteristics of the class;

6. Characteristics per student;

7. Analysis of the cabinet by subject;

8.Learning analysis tools;

9. Study of school documentation

The purpose of adaptation practice

    Adaptation practice is an organizational part of the educational process, in order to

consolidate theoretical knowledge in general education institutions, the first professional

skills are formed.

Completed activities for the organization of practice:

• Distributes trainees to secondary schools;

• An online conference is held at the faculty level;

• Supervisors direct students to the appropriate educational institutions;

• Referral to practice online;

• UMO issues a diary;

• Individual tasks are assigned by methodologists

     As a result of the adaptation practice, it is noted that the task of methodologists is to carry

out work at the meetings of departments to revive practical work, increase the interest and

responsibility of students. Students went to schools with methodologists, got acquainted with

the director of the school and the deputy directors for academic affairs, were registered,

approved the methodologists of the school.Methodologists provide interns with individual weekly assignments.

 

                           Educational work at the Faculty of Humanities

           In general, 569 students study at the faculty. For full-time education – 312, for part-time education – 257. They are divided into 21 academic groups. 14 of them are full-time and 7 are part-time.

          At the beginning of the academic year, each group has a curator and group leaders, who are approved by order of the dean.

                  Curators play an important role in the system of specialist training, working         directly with students. Curators work closely with students and do a lot of good work on attendance, academic performance, organization of payment for the study, control  and educational work.

           Students of the Faculty of Humanities won prizes at traditional events held at the institutional and faculty levels. The faculty holds many events dedicated to “Independence Day”, “State Language Day”, “International Student Day”, “New Year”, “KGPI Lady”, “KGPI Mister”, “Nooruz”, “Last Call”, “Day of Victory”. In particular, in the New Year’s competition, the team of students of the 1st year of English language “Tarnada” under the leadership of Kairat Dzhakupov took 1st place, in the competition “Mr. KSPI” the team “VIP” took 2nd place, in the competition “Lady Student of KSPI” Abdusalam kyzy Madina took 2nd place, a student of FK-21 Kanatbek kyzy Shahida won prizes in the educational debate.

The Faculty has a Student Senate, which consists of students. The Chairman of the Student Senate is Davrish Ogly Ayshe, a 3rd year student of the AR-2-19 group with an English profile. Members of the student council provide direct assistance in all activities organized in the educational process.
